Every year the cruise-ship companies find new ways to amuse and refresh passengers—mini-amusement parks, sky-diving, Broadway shows and more—but now Viking has trumped the others by adding snow to its new ocean cruisers, starting with Viking Star.
Yes, snow. As part of its spa facilties, Viking has created a “Snow Grotto,” where passengers can spend a few minutes with snow drifting down from the ceiling, allegedly boosting their circulatory systems. It’s right near the thermal pools and sauna; it kind of recreates the traditional jump-in-the-snow-after-sauna experience I plan never to have.
