Along Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Montreal
A mural painted on the sidewalk; no one can argue it's not street art. A statue on a pedestal in a street triangle: Isn't that street art, too? Or is 'street art' meant to be distinguished as 'not classical?' Well, stepping off the soapbox, here are three pieces that are along streets, and unquestionably on walls. And all three a lot of fun.
The Neptune Inn Revealed, in Vieux Quebec, the city's oldest quarter
And in this 'serious' trompe-le-oeil painting, the sidewalks, balconies and roads, all painted on a flat wall, include dozens of notable historic and cultural references.
