WestJet, Air North, new directions

Starting this week, it's a lot easier to fly between Canada's far north and the rest of the world as Air North, Yukon's airline, begins its interline agreement with WestJet.

Air North serves a dozen Canadian destinations, including four in the Yukon and Inuvik in the Northwest Territories. WestJet, which started almost 30 years ago as a low-cost regional airline, now serves over 100 destinations in 26 countries.

Passengers will now be able to reach any of WestJet's destinations on a single ticket bridging the two airlines, or travel from any of those cities to destinations such as Whitehorse, Dawson, Yellowknife and Old Crow.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
