Passengers on the February 11th sailing of Carnival Glory got an unpleasant surprise when construction workers took over several of the ship's pools and water features to prepare for installation of a water park.
Not only were the forward pools out of service, but passengers in cabins nearby, some of whom had chosen their cabins based on being near the pool, found themselves next to loud construction noises that continued through the trip.
Following the cruise, the ship was going into drydock to complete the work, completed earlier this week. But additional work is needed before the new facilities can open on March 25.
Passengers booked for this week's cruise and the one beginning next week are being given a $200 shipboard credit and the option to switch to another ship. Passengers from the February 11th cruise, who had no advance notice of the closures or work, will get a 25% refund, and a 50% off coupon for a future cruise by September 2018.
