Whitemouth Falls Provincial Park, Manitoba

This park is situated in eastern Manitoba, about 90 kilometers from Winnipeg.  Whitemouth Falls is a small quiet place close to the larger Whiteshell Provincial Park.  It’s a pretty place to visit, and has been for thousands of years (nearby archaeologic sites date human activity in the area to more than 4800 years ago).

The park is a nice place to picnic, fish (especially for walleye, whitefish, northern pike), and offers a chance to see birds and other wildlife like the American White Pelican and Great Gray Owl.

Fall colors were just beginning when we visited.

There is a scenic 5 km trail (Seven Sisters Falls Trails) in the park that’s great for hiking or mountain-biking, and cross country skiing in the winter.
