I'm reminded of a poem (to give it dignity) by the late Ogden Nash. The Purist I give you now Professor Twist... a conscientious scientist. Trustees exclaimed "He never bungles!" and packed him off to distant jungles. Camped by a tropic riverside, one night he missed his loving bride. She had, the guide informed him later, been eaten by an alligator. Professor Twist could not but smile: You mean, said he, a crocodile!

Or, we could forget the bloated attempts, like the 1963 model you posted, to look like everyone else, and quietly remember the "little Nash Rambler" that not only invented the modern compact, but also beat out the Cadillac in the famous song (this YouTube version also has some great Rambler pics...)

I remember the T-Bird and Corvettes being coveted vehicles back in the day. My brother had a Nash Rambler (one of your car photos) and after installing many ad-ons including a bigger engine, would race it on our local highway against other street machines.

And it's sort of a memorial in another way: Nash dropped all of its lines except the Rambler on June 25, 1957, the end of the Nash name as well. Fewer than ten thousand 1957 Nashes were built.
