What an incredible building! Great reveal and photos!

I loved going when I was a college student. Recently I discovered that these Wadsworths are in my family tree. So glad my ancestors appreciated beautiful art.

Nice! We've also enjoyed the Wadsworth...which makes a nice break in a trip between NY and Boston, as well. It's also hosted some interesting temporary exhibits that have made it worth a trip of its own.

Glad you grabbed one of my favorites! Even though it's sometimes had embarrassingly badly-dressed stores in the base, it's always had a real dignity to it. Incidentally, it was New York's first building with a steel skeleton instead of masonry, which allowed it to be built very rapidly. In a way, it was an advertisement for its owner, the Fuller company (still a major builder). Daniel Burnham was the architect—which doesn't mean the building was popular when new!

Did you ever get your sip of No. 7, DrF?

Indeed I did, PortMoresby! I'm not much of a hard liquor guy, but love the smoky smell of No. 7. Reminds me of the mellowing room at the distillery! And the golden color from those customized oak barrels is beautiful!

I've never been a serious whiskey fan, but the processes, as with wine, are fascinating!

Thanks for the comment, PHeymont! I was surprised at what a quality craft the making of Jack Daniels is. The fine attention to all details -- form harvesting their own trees and making their own charcoal, to having their own oak barrels made from wood harvested near by -- key elements to producing a unique product. It was quite fascinating to me.
