Re: Motel 6 freshens its rooms...and its image

The French AccorHotels owned them for a time and really made some great improvements, updating rooms and making new hotels. And those prices were the same price as their old rooms. I wonder what happened to Accors plans that they sold

I used to stay at Motel 6 when I was a poor starving medical student. But I abandoned the chain because of how inconsistent the different sites were. Some a offered a decent room. Others were dives. Hopefully along with the face lift there will be an greater effort to standardize their properties. For example, when I'm I stay at a Courtyard, I know exactly what to expect and am never disappointed.

Thanks Samantha, I'd love to visit Cooperstown. When I saw Hank Aaron's boyhood home at Mobile's minor league stadium with all it's incredible baseball memorabilia, I knew I had to see the Baseball Hall of Fame one day. Thanks for showing me what to expect!

Hi Rob, it is a really cool place to visit. I had been to the Negro Hall of Fame in Kansas, but not the one in Cooperstown. It was so worth the wait! Thanks for mentioning Aaron's home in Mobile. I would like to see it someday too. Have a great weekend

I understand the importance of graphics in communication, especially where numbers of languages are involved, but this seems to me to be just a trendy fad, at least in the Aloft version. Who, not speaking English, would understand what the "Hangover" package actually consists of? The possibilities of misunderstanding of everything but the banana are immense; "Munchies" doesn't show the Coke, but shows things that are not included; the "phone charger" item has instructions requiring knowledge...

Thanks guys. I loved all of New York, but this was very special. The ceilings reminded me of the ceilings you see in Europe. Sadly some people probably don't notice unless someone points it out Like I said in the post, it was the only time I felt like I was able to relax, breathe, and take in my surroundings. Definitely look forward to visiting again. Thanks again for you comments.
