Built of locally quarried Portland Stone the Church was opened on 1766. Then restored in the 1960s. Like many churches in England you can place where it's located by the colour of the stonework.

Drawing much inspiration from London's St. Paul's cathedral is St. George's church in Portland, England. Designed with obvious enthusiasm by an apprentice of Sir Christopher Wren, it appeared to jumble together a disparate number of design ideas.
