Wednesday's clue...only about a 5-minute walk from the first clue. You might be curious to know it was built both after and before the first...

I think Garry's got it...because he just posted the scene that was in today's e-mail in a cropped version, and which I obviously forgot to upload here! Congrats, Garry...and let's see who else twigged to it...

Let me try to get the ball rolling. While they look like owl eyes at first glance, I think it's an aerial photo of a garden or park....or perhaps of a model of a garden or park. Where???? I don't have a clue at the moment.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#105)
And so the ball rolls…but it is neither garden nor park. But the sharp-eyed doctor is correct: it is not viewed from ground level. And that’s the first day’s hint.

I have a picture ready for you guessers...but you have to pay for it with a guess, suggestion or hint! Nothing for you until you bring something for me...

Could this be some kind of weaving? A rug or a basket maybe?

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#105)
Hmmm. It almost looks like the formations that they have around castles and manors in Netherlands but most pictures I've seen have star shaped formations rather than circular. I'm at a loss!

Let's get down to ground level. Not at the place, but in the same town. Toss me some more ideas, and tomorrow you'll get another clue!

Well, Scandinavia's not the only part of the world over-run with bicycles, but I'll grant you you're on the right continent, and in the right half of it. Feed me some more tomorrow folks, and you might get a mid-day picture!

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#105)
Alright...you've given me nothing today, but since Monday is the last day (on Tuesday the answer will be published) here's one last picture from the town Gumbo's (virtually) visiting... This is an important venue, and a modern one...

Looking at the architecture its a coastal city in southern Sweden. But I cant nail it to the post !

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
The free-form shape and the large single entrance lead me to think of a concert hall...room for a big auditorium within. The windows are too irregular for offices or apartments, but might work for galleries or studios. Recent? Last 10-15 years? Hmmm...the grass rather than street setting makes me wonder if it's on a campus?

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
Agree, PHeymont. Looks like an artsy building. Probably a concert auditorium but I could see an museum or art gallery in here, too.

Is the destination you're looking for a building? A town? A region?

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#121)
It's a particular building, and an unusual one, but not so unusual in its home town...but its importance is less for its location than its history. Does that clarify? Hmmmm....

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#121)
Today's clue...tomorrow we'll see more of this building, and then visit the neighborhood on the weekend...

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#121)
A steep roofed building that looks like it's built around a tall brick wall. No idea where we are, though.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#121)
It's in a town with enough interesting buildings, none of them large, that there are bicycle tours to see them all...many by the same architect as our puzzle house...On Sunday morning, you can see the whole house.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
Time for some clues. The architecture is associated with what's inside, but it's the interactive exhibits that most people remember.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
Great insights! And it's clue time. The building is less than 5 years old and it's very, very close to some popular attractions. Does this shot help any?

And the trees are leafless, so somewhere with 4 distinct seasons.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
Leafless trees aren't, as I understand it, necessarily an indicator of 4 seasons. In the tropics, there can be 2 seasons, wet & dry, and some trees lose leaves in the dry season.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
Good point, PM, although this doesn't look like a tropical place to me.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#109)
It's clue time! Not only do popular attractions surround this building, it is located right downtown and itself is a very well reviewed major downtown attraction. It's opening was covered by a lot of major media outlets.

Re: Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#134)
Today's clue will be the biggest clue before Monday's reveal, but it's not a photo. It's a little history. It's not the kind of history you might expect, though. What makes this lighthouse so famous is that it was involved in some aviation history. The pilots did not succeed in what they wanted to do, but they were still viewed as heroes worldwide. And what the pilots were able to accomplish was quite an achievement. Their accomplishment still has an impact on many flights today. So history...

The vegetation looks like something from the far north. Perhaps from your trip to Norway? Maybe even eastern Canada. I'm not sure.
