Samantha features a highlight of her hotel stay: its extensive twice-a-week indoor farmers market featuring Hawaiian produce.

Samantha and her husband spent some time in New York City last Christmas. It was magical and they loved walking around the Union Square Holiday Market. It is a New York City tradition.

This market is a really interesting idea, especially since visitors in resort areas sometimes end up eating only what's served, and don't visit local markets. In Hawaii, where there are so many different fruits we don't see in the rest of the U.S., that's especially a shame!

Hi there Pheymont. It was really interesting and different. I actually work with someone here in CO who has an aunt that works at the hotel next door to the Hyatt. While visiting with her, she told us she usually grabs some fresh fruit and veggies every week. She says it is much better than at the store. Look forward to going the next time we are in the area. I love the sights, the sounds, the colours and - yes - the smells of a market. Finding a new fruit or vegetable is amazing. Usually in a country I'm visiting. I found your husbands likings so funny. I read it to my wife but I couldn't finish a sentence for laughing ! Maybe he's a Monty Python fan ?

Great visit to a great market! I try to get to the Pike's Place market almost every time I visit Seattle. You are right, Samantha, there's nothing magical about the fish being thrown around. Everytime someone buys a salmon, it sails from one employee to another to another, and they are remarkably good at it! So if you want to see the action, buy yourself one of these great fish. Samantha and her husband had a great time walking around and talking to the vendors at the Viktualienmarkt Farmers Market while in Munich, Germany.

I also visited Viktualienmarkt for produce shopping as an alternative to our local village market. A photo below. I remember a number of statues and fountains in the Viktualienmarkt and I snapped a photo of my favorite Ida Schumacher with a broom and pail in her hand. I couldn't locate my photo, but I attached a royalty free photo.
