When the US east coast has a severe winter then the folks in northern Europe escape with a cool and dry season. Perhaps we can put all this talk of "Warming" safely to bed !

A fine piece of History from a young Town. With a small population it appears to be booming in style and grace. Could even make it to Garry's favourite "Small Town America List". An Oasis of Olde World Quality and Charm. This Town took some locating. Good one Dr F.

Outside Pietermaritzburg City Hall, South Africa is a Naval gun from the British Royal Navy Ship HMS Fawn. After the ship ran aground in 1850 the gun was relocated to its current location. A nice summary of an amazing place! Basically the water of the great lakes flows over this precipice -- but actually just half the water. Ontario Hydro diverts the other half of the water for electricity production and to reduce the rate of erosion of the precipice. The town itself is very touristy, but after you've visited the falls I'd recommend leaving town and exploring some of the Niagara Peninsula.
