There are in the Sonoran Desert part of the Baja Peninsula. I drove the peninsula and back. But who needs an excuse to go. It is one of my favourite places.

Beautiful Christmas Tree indeed. Best I've seen since the NYPD chased me with night stick raised in 2002. In Rockefeller Center when they switched on the Christmas lights. Memorable as the best ever Tree Display. "You need to disperse that way Sir" - "Sorry Officer, but you've sent my wife and kids the opposite way " - " You'll do as I told you" - "No way - Watch me......."

It would be a moving memorial, and you've share it very nicely, here, thanks. The last time I was in New York the Memorial was almost (but not completely) finished, so we couldn't see it. Guess I have (yet another) excuse to return to the Big Apple.

I remember reading with fascination about this in a couple of articles by Barry Lopez. It was saddening to hear of the wanton damage done on the past, but equally gladdening (?) to learn that intact granaries and other structures are still in existence but very closely guarded. Such archaeological evidence is a delight and tells us a lot about these early inhabitants ❤️
