Allegiant takes on biggest expansion

Allegiant, one of the ‘ultra-low-cost’ carriers, is taking its biggest single-shot expansion, with three new cities and 22 new routes, including some from its existing cities. Adding Santa Rosa, CA, Albuquerque and Evansville, IN brings the carrier to a total of 114 cities. The additions come only weeks after Allegiant added Baltimore and El Paso. The recent additions mark a change for Allegiant, which formerly focused on a group of core cities, and avoided competing at the largest airports.
