On a visit to Windsor Castle in England, I couldn’t resist the opportunities to photograph the Queen’s Guard as they patrolled the neighborhood.

VisitBritain, the official tourist-promotion agency of UK, has published a list of “DOs” and “DON’Ts” for hotels and employees. Some are pretty obvious (don’t make fun of Indian accents) and some are based on common national stereotypes.
Basking in the warmth of an unusually sunny and delightful English summer, there is nothing nicer, particularly if you are a hot horse, than being able to queue up for a cooling ice cream cone at the Winstones ice cream van.

Enough to live in it? Developers have bought a disused London tube station and plan to convert it, and the building above, to luxury apartments.
Travelers flying from Britain will be forced to pay even more in Air Passenger Duty. it’s the sixth time in as many years.

London’s subway system, the world’s oldest, is planning to change to 24-hour service starting in 2015. The change will also coincide with a plan to eliminate special fare cards in favor of riders paying directly with bank debit cards.
