Everyone knows the Eiffel Tower, or Tour Eiffel. You could probably draw a pretty accurate sketch without even looking. And quite a few folks know that that Gustave Eiffel, who designed and built it, also provided the iron skeleton that keeps the Statue of Liberty standing in New York Harbor.
Ryanair, noted for low-cost tickets and strict rules and fees has now relented a bit. Passengers can now carry a second small bag free, and fee for getting your boarding pass reprinted has dropped from $95 to $20…MORE
No visit to the UK or Europe is complete without at least one visit to a Castle.
Wales had 400 Castles at its Historical peak. Now its just over 100.
One of my favorite places in Europe is France’s Loire Valley. That’s partially because of its pastoral beauty — rolling hills, farmland, vineyards, forest, dairy herds — but largely because the people are much more relaxed and easier going than in the big European capitals.
When it comes to crafting great food, Belgians do a number of things exceptionally well. They make excellent french fries (frites), with an interesting assortment of dipping sauces. They brew some great beer and they excel at chocolate!
Norwegian Air Shuttle’s first Fort Lauderdale to Copenhagen flight is off today, to be followed by flights tomorrow and Sunday to Oslo and Stockholm.
Paris to Barcelona has been a difficult trip by train, requiring at least one change and some slow trains. Now, the two cities have been linked by a direct French TGV train that makes the trip in 6h25m, challenging the airlines.
