Marseille’s central attraction, the Vieux Port really lives up to its name, the Old Port, but first glances wouldn’t tell you that. It’s a sizable natural harbor, sheltered from the sea, that’s been an important center of trade since it was founded.
Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, in the Luberon area of Provence, is a small village with a big distinction. Its name comes from the spring that is the source of the Sorgue River, and that spring is the largest in France and the fifth-largest in the world.
My son, his girlfriend, and I spent four nights in lovely Strasbourg. We had a wonderful time!

The Luberon region of Provence, spread out over three small ranges of hills and mountains, is full of picturesque villages, each famous for some aspect of its view or for someone who lived there.
While staying in Saint-Remy-de-Provence for a few days, visiting the market and touring to nearby towns, we also enjoyed a hike out into the surrounding country for two local attractions.

There are markets every day in Provence, with each town setting aside a day or two a week. Some are just food and necessities; others have large crafts areas and some markets are good sources of inexpensive clothing as well as designer clothing.
