Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, in the Luberon area of Provence, is a small village with a big distinction. Its name comes from the spring that is the source of the Sorgue River, and that spring is the largest in France and the fifth-largest in the world.
My son, his girlfriend, and I spent four nights in lovely Strasbourg. We had a wonderful time!

The Luberon region of Provence, spread out over three small ranges of hills and mountains, is full of picturesque villages, each famous for some aspect of its view or for someone who lived there.
While staying in Saint-Remy-de-Provence for a few days, visiting the market and touring to nearby towns, we also enjoyed a hike out into the surrounding country for two local attractions.

This veteran Citroen truck, probably early 1950s, sits daily on a small triangle off the Champs Elysees, near the Grand Palais, selling organic fruit ices.
In the courtyard of the Musee Carnavelet, the City of Paris history museum, boxwood trimmed to fleur-de-lys patterns and other ornamentals share space with ripening tomatoes, lovely cabbage, and a dozen other vegetables.
